First off let me say anything we discuss in this thread is purely theoretical and I in no way speak for the entirety of the UrQuan alliance. I previously posted our history so you would understand and appreciate our position.

That being said, I would like to discuss the possibility of TD.IU becoming the new wing of UrQuan. The first attempts at a wing alliance the UrQuan UmGah failed because of poor leadership. What the top alliances don't seem to understand is that a wing where all the players want to do is move up to the top alliances fosters a desire to leave the wing as soon as possible will never succeed. The only successful wing alliance UrQuan ever had was a success because of a strong council of leaders that cared about their alliance. I feel that TD.IU is the same way.

I wish for UrQuan to climb out of the 7th rank spot and reclaim its former glory. And I believe with the help of a strong wing UrQuan could do that. But not just UrQuan...I wish for the wings name to be respected much the same way the it used to be.


One of my main concerns however is John G Atlas. Im guessing he is in Transcendence to leave all the politics of Uni one behind. And this might be something he is totally against and because he is by far your strongest player I wouldn't want to upset the current dynamics of this alliance. Also he is former Mara.DIM and if you read the history there was no love between our alliances.


Now on to the possible benefits/disadvantages to becoming UrQuan's wing.


Benefits
-Increased networking with top players.
-Increased attention by the Ogame community.
-Protection from UrQuan Kzer Za.
-Advice and Friendship gained.
-Being recommended players that have expressed interest in wanting to join us.
-After a point limit and recommendation from TD.IU a spot in UrQuan

Disadvantages
-Negative attention from the community(i.e. attacks from our enemies)
-Possibly renaming your alliance. (what I dont know)
-Possible input from UrQuan



If you think of anything let me know. Like I said before either saying yes or no understand that nothing is official yet and we still have a lot of things to work out...so lets just talk about it first.

Oh and for the record we really wouldn't interfere with who your allies are or anything like that. We prefer for you to make a strong leadership and have your decisions based upon your own conclusions.

we would need more info on the matter. I'm fine wih everything BUT the name.....Ilike our name and so do many others....we would need to come up with a new name...

What you have to ask yourselves is how does an alliance with a wing, become a wing. Being a wing of a wing does not sound right. Before one makes the decision there should be an idea of whom is speaking. For example who are you and what is the history of your name, as your story sounds like another story that I have read or a movie I have watched. So, that said where does your story originate, what is it that you draw on to make your story. I read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies and research a lot. Some friends of mine have dubbed me '411' for I usually have an answer to a question, no matter what the subject. I usually remember things in detail and even can pick out when someone copies another story. Back to your story, it sounds like the narrative voice from terminator or some other popular story.

Protection from Xiu xiu and any AL would be nice he has been dogging TD and the TA for a while. I checked your account, 328 1.6 mil points is nice. Will be like a year before I am there, less time if you destroy Xiu xiu or get him off my back. :)

the wing of a wing thing doesnt bother me so much.GGH think of it as schoo. you have middle school,high school then college i think that elementary is like the first day of ogame when you ge that message telling you haw everything works. the only thing that bothers me is the name.


UrQuan is to known and sadly hated by some top ranked alliances.
I think we should (if we do merge) have totaly new names. my alliance (the training academy) can be the very first level of the new alliance. after that TD.IU will be the second stage the UrQuan the final stage. TD.IU though is currently about to go through a huge merge with GUILD,T.E.R.,CHAOS.IU(not all of them though) and the rest of the IU alliances. so if we do merge i think we should do AFTER these merges are final and over.

I have only been in ogame since august 2007, but have been playing other games for a while and been known as many different people and have been in many different alliances in other games similar to ogame and other games that are graphically based games as opposed to mainly real time numbers.

One thing I would like to ask, has ogame ever reset?

In the time that I played Feburary of 2005 - January of 2006? and from June 2007 - Present I have never heard of OGame being reset. There has been no need. They just start a new universe which is like a fresh beginning. They have set it back like a day before when there were massive glitches in the game. But I don't think they have ever reset it.

It seems to me that TD.IU has been steadily gaining in power and influence, and is growing into a strong alliance. If TD.IU becomes a wing of an alliance as powerful as UrQuan it will almost certainly cease to exist. If we want to become members of UrQuan in the long run then this is a good idea, however if we wish to continue what we started and become a great alliance of our own this will surely kill that dream. So the question is, do we plow ahead and see if we have what it takes to achieve greatness, or do we cling to the greatness of others and rely on their ability to carry us? The answer is for you to decide.
